ClearCorrect Clear Aligners

A straighter smile doesn’t have to mean a mouth full of metal. ClearCorrect is a clear aligner system that gradually moves your teeth into alignment using a series of custom-made, removable, nearly invisible plastic trays — no brackets, no wires, and no major changes to your daily routine.

We’re proud to offer ClearCorrect at Parsons Dental Care, giving patients in our community access to discreet orthodontic treatment without having to travel to a specialist. Whether you’ve been thinking about straightening your smile for years or have a specific concern you’d like to address, ClearCorrect may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

How ClearCorrect Works

ClearCorrect treatment begins with a consultation and a thorough evaluation of your teeth, bite, and jaw. We take digital scans of your mouth — no messy traditional impressions — and use that information to map out a precise, customized treatment plan that shows the projected movement of your teeth from start to finish.

Based on that plan, a series of clear aligner trays are fabricated specifically for your mouth. Each set of trays is worn for approximately one to two weeks before you move on to the next set in the sequence. With each new tray, your teeth shift incrementally toward their final, corrected position.

You’ll visit our office periodically throughout treatment so we can monitor your progress, make any necessary adjustments, and ensure everything is tracking according to plan. Most ClearCorrect cases are completed within 12 to 18 months, though simpler cases can move faster and more complex ones may take longer.

The Benefits of ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect offers a number of practical advantages over traditional braces that make it an appealing choice for many patients — particularly adults and older teenagers.

Nearly invisible — The aligners are made from a clear, smooth plastic that is virtually undetectable when worn. Most people won’t notice you’re in treatment at all.

Removable — Unlike fixed braces, ClearCorrect aligners can be taken out to eat, drink, brush, and floss. There are no dietary restrictions and no special tools required to clean around brackets and wires. You simply remove the trays, eat what you want, brush and floss normally, and put them back in.

Comfortable — The aligners are made from smooth plastic with no sharp edges, eliminating the irritation to the cheeks and lips that can come with metal braces. There are no wires to tighten and no adjustment soreness in the traditional sense — just mild pressure as each new tray begins moving your teeth.

Convenient — Because you’re progressing through a series of pre-made trays, you need fewer office visits than traditional braces typically require. And since treatment is managed right here at our practice, you won’t need to be referred elsewhere.

Is ClearCorrect Right for Me?

ClearCorrect is an excellent option for correcting a wide range of mild to moderate orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, gaps between teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and general misalignment. It is suitable for most adults and older teenagers whose permanent teeth have fully come in.

For cases involving more significant bite correction or complex tooth movement, traditional braces may still be the more appropriate choice — and we’ll be straightforward with you about that during your consultation. The goal is always to recommend the treatment that will deliver the best outcome for your specific situation, not simply the most popular or convenient one.

The most important factor in ClearCorrect success is compliance. The aligners need to be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day to stay on track. Patients who are disciplined about wearing their trays consistently get the results they’re looking for. Those who frequently leave them out may find treatment takes longer than expected.

ClearCorrect vs. Traditional Braces

Both ClearCorrect and traditional braces are effective orthodontic treatments, and the right choice depends on the specifics of your case and your personal preferences. Here’s a general comparison:

ClearCorrect is removable, nearly invisible, and places no dietary restrictions on the patient. It tends to be more comfortable day-to-day and requires fewer office visits. It works best for mild to moderate alignment issues and requires patient discipline to wear the trays consistently.

Traditional braces are fixed in place, meaning they work around the clock without any effort from the patient. They are generally the preferred option for more complex cases involving significant bite correction or tooth rotation. They are visible but highly effective across a broad range of orthodontic needs.

During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your teeth and discuss your goals to help you determine which path makes the most sense for you.

What to Expect After Treatment

Once your ClearCorrect treatment is complete and your teeth have reached their final positions, you’ll move into the retention phase — the step that ensures your results last. Teeth have a natural tendency to shift back toward their original positions over time, and wearing a retainer prevents that from happening.

We’ll provide you with retainers customized to fit your newly aligned smile. In most cases, retainers are worn full-time initially and then transitioned to nighttime wear. Following through on retainer use is the final and essential step in protecting the investment you’ve made in your smile.
